The Flora

Because of the territorial boundaries of the Park, the area’s distinctive flora is linked to a lake environment. The shallow waters and the concentrations of nutrients make it a basin that is very rich in both plant and animal life.

The plant life is classified in two categories: the one connected strictly with the aquatic environment involving the riparian zone, and the one covering the islands in the lake.

The narrow shoreline is low and sandy in areas.

This portion of the territory has cultivations referred to locally as pedate, which often go down to the lake shores.

Isola Polvese features wetlands, woodlands, and arable land.

The garden of aquatic plants on the island is fascinating.
